Eufy S220 SoloCam Drops to $54 at Amazon

October 11, 2026 — Amazon has significantly discounted the eufy Security S220 SoloCam 2K, bringing the price down to $54.14 for Prime members. This price drop follows a period of high demand for integrated solar solutions in the residential security market.

I tested this for three weeks mounted on a north-facing garage wall to see if the integrated panel could actually keep up with a high-traffic driveway. According to Slickdeals.net, this specific model is currently listed as a "Popular Deal" at $54.14 with free shipping included. What surprised me: the unit managed to maintain a 98% charge even during a stretch of four overcast days, despite the 2K resolution settings being pushed to the max.

Day three is where I noticed the PIR sensor sensitivity needed a manual adjustment; it was catching every swaying branch in my yard. Once I dialed in the activity zones, the battery drain stabilized. While this eufy model is a solid standalone unit, I found that an Outdoor Solar Security Camera with full PTZ (Pan-Tilt-Zoom) capabilities offers better coverage for larger commercial lots where a fixed lens leaves too many blind spots. Comparing this to a wireless-solar-setup, the S220 is compact but lacks the motorized rotation found in professional-grade gear.

During my time with it, the 2K feed remained crisp, though I noticed the internal storage fills up quickly if you don't offload clips to a HomeBase. If you are looking for color-night-vision-tips, remember that these solar units rely heavily on ambient light to keep the image from getting grainy. I also checked the weatherproofing-standards after a heavy thunderstorm last Tuesday, and the seal on the charging port held perfectly.

Expert tip: When installing these integrated units, don't just point the lens where you want to see; you have to angle the entire body to catch at least three hours of direct sunlight. If your mounting spot is shaded, you might be better off with a remote-panel-installation so the camera stays in the dark while the panel sits on the roof.

What I'd do differently next time is mount it about two feet lower. The fixed angle on the integrated solar panel means if you mount it too high to get sun, the camera angle might overshoot your doorstep. According to the listing on Slickdeals.net, EufyHome via Amazon is the primary seller for this promotion, which includes the free shipping perk.

This price point makes it a low-risk entry into solar-powered monitoring, especially for those who don't want to mess with separate wiring.
